Breakout Session: Help?, Help, or Help!
Have you ever had someone sitting across from you share a particularly difficult situation going on in their lives at that particular moment, then ask you what they are supposed to do? As they sit there waiting for you to save the day, give them a quick fix, or say something to make it all better . . . do you feel stuck, panicked, unsure, nervous, inadequate, and maybe just want to run away altogether? In this session, I’m going to share personal experiences, information, and resources from 13 years as a Marriage and Family Therapist, pastor’s wife, church-planter, mom of two, and entrepreneur that you can use to feel more confident in helping others, providing good counsel, and knowing when to ask for outside help. We will answer this question together: How can I be the most effective and confident in helping others?
I have been a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since 2005. In the last 13 years I have counseled couples, adult individuals, and children, started two private practices, lived abroad with my husband and two children while we planted an English-speaking church, started an English Language Center while living there, and have had numerous opportunities to walk with people of all cultures, ages, and demographics as they heal, grow, and share.
