Breakout Session: Jesus + Java = The Coffeehouse Church Plant Model
We desperately need to create inventive ways to impact and influence our culture for Christ. While our traditional church planting models are good, perhaps there’s another option for connecting with people who may never “go to church.” SoZo Coffee and Missio Dei Church have done exactly that! Come and dialogue about how Scott and his team have breathed “missional living” for 8 years and discovered fresh ways to engage culture through this unique church meets business endeavor. This is church planting on another, highly-caffeinated level!
Pastor Scott Morgan is the founding and lead Pastor of Missio Dei Community Church (www.thechurchisaverb.org) and the founder and owner of SoZo Coffeehouse (www.sozocoffee.org), jointly doing ministry together in Chandler, AZ. Scott holds a Master’s Degree in Biblical Communications from Phoenix Seminary and is now working on his Doctorate on Missional Business. The Missio/SoZo vision has been a thriving 8+ year ministry and business that has branded itself as “coffee with a cause” utilizing an unorthodox church planting model. Scott and his wife Lori have been happily married and in ministry together for 26+ years and, together with their 3 kids, live “on mission” to serve their beloved community with the love of Christ through the relationships through both the coffeehouse culture and the church body that they love.
