Breakout Session: Touching the Lives of Hurting People ~ Developing a Counseling/Care Ministry
This breakout is designed to help churches of all sizes to create counseling and care ministries that address the brokenness of the people in their congregation and their community. We will talk about creating the ministry, training and working with volunteer counselors and care givers, and sharing resources available to the local church.
Tom Stone currently serves as the Pastor of Counseling and Care at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Chandler. He has served in Church ministry positions for 47 years and has been involved at Cornerstone for the past 17 years.
Tom graduated from Grand Canyon University with a BS degree in music education and received a Master of Music in Composition from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He served as a minister of music for 32 years before moving into counseling.
Tom and his wife, Lisa, have been married 13 years. They have a blended family of 7 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
